Our philosophy is simple. We exist, first of all, to give your client a water-tight facility and second of all to make you look good for having hired us to make sure that it is. You see while no one can claim a patent on any type of manual testing, there are some companies who do it better than others. The truth is that Low Voltage Vector Mapping, sometimes referred to as EFVM, is as much art as science and with the revolving door that some companies have with their technician positions they never really learn how to effectively test. You see it's really of no consequence if a company has tested millions and millions of square feet of roof. The vital question to ask is how many square feet of roofing has the technician they're sending to your project tested? Chance are. . . Not many.
I have personally and successfully tested more than 3 MILLION SQUARE FEET on a large variety of membranes. And one thing I can most definitely say is that each project is unique... so experience helps a great deal. And that experience has shown that the best way to provide efficient and budget-wise testing is to perform a High-Voltage sweep on the entire roofing assembly, then perform Low-Voltage Vector Mapping.
By performing the HV test first we find most or all of the puncture type anomalies which may or may not be evident to the naked eye. The HV test is a dry test and makes patches and repairs easy to accomplish. The Vector Mapping test finds less obvious anomalies such as debris under membrane edges, cold joints, open T-Seams, migratory leaks, etc. Repairs from the High Voltage test are also retested during the Vector Mapping. Although it might seem counter-intuitive, performing both tests in this sequence can test a much larger area much more effectively and in less time than EFVM alone.
We always, if applicable, leave behind a fully installed Vector mapping "Built-In' system at NO EXTRA CHARGE because dragging around a cable loop like other companies do is a sure-fire recipe for missing problems. So no matter what type of over-burden is installed you've got a built-in-system at the ready to discover whatever problems might arise in the future.
So you can let the company that lets anybody play technician for a while or you can call the company that will send a tech that's been a tech and will stay a tech, with us, for a long time.
And you know what else? We get there fast. At Roof Analyzers we know it's hard to know just when you will need our services. And it's almost impossible to predict "two weeks in advance" that the other testing agencies demand. We understand that when you lose time you lose money. That's why when you call us we'll do our dead-level best to get there ASAP... often times in the next day or two.
